Wynter Gordon ‘Til Death (Denzal Park Radio Edit)’ Music Video
by David
Oh Ms Wynter, one day we will party like this. Remember to BYO glitter.
You kids know how I stan hard for Wynter Gordon and unwittingly act like a supremist pop music bloggeur when I say shit like, “we been following her since she was still underground!” but this right here, is actually the first time you see Ms Gordon bring her personal style into a video.
‘Til Death’ is already one of my favourite party anthems of the year because it just gives life, especially this Australian-only Denzal Park radio edit. I just need for everyone who’s only heard ‘Dirty Talk’ to experience this so they know she can deliver a hi-energy vocal track.
The video doesn’t serve to be revolutionary or anything. Like the song, it is just unbridled fun.
Here are three thoughts on the ‘Til Death’ video:
1) Wynie style.
Can we just check on Wynie‘s style for a sec, please? If you’ve been following her blog, you would’ve picked up on her penchant for contemporary pieces with colourful collisions of retro inspirations. [Editor's note: that's a really good description, Limmy. Please mental note to reuse when writing a piece for Teen Vogue.]
2) Smoke gets in my eyes.
Gurl, break open a window and air it out a little. I get the club atmosphere you’re trying to create here with the smoke machine but there’s too many of those shots and not enough fabulous close ups. I reckon they should’ve thrown in more proper close shots where she’s just giving face because as much as the vibe’s just jumpin’, some variety would’ve a little more depth to the reel.
3) “Music Never Dies.”
A reference to the forthcoming album With The Music I Die, which really means we live forever. ‘Cause music never dies. Gawsh, y’guys do I have to explain everything?
Footnotes:
Read my recent interview with Wynter Gordon and just so you know, she hasn’t confirmed an album release date yet. So it’ll be interesting to see if the whispers are true about a certain June drop date in Australia.
We can only speculate at this stage but it’ll all depend on how ‘Til Death’ performs, I guess. *Kanye shrugs* The track is currently at #21 on our ARIA singles chart.
