Leak Report: Britney Spears feat. Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj ‘Till The World Ends (Remix)’

It’s time Britney started acting like Madonna and work that pop MVP status of hers to good measure.

Here Godney enlists current pop reignmistresses Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj for a new remix of ‘Till The World Ends’, which will be issued to US radios on Monday.

There’s an identical countdown timer set up on Brit, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha‘s official sites. Note: Nicki‘s countdown timer has scrawling down the bottom, “if you feel it let it happen” and Ke$ha’s has “next one on my hitlist”! Gurl, we already know. We already know.

The original single mix is already flawless in my opinion but Team Britney‘s not gonna sit around playing Angry Birds while they see it stall on the charts. The instant anthem should’ve slain and ended careers already by now but for whatever reason, it hasn’t. So to help inject a little more interest in the track, they’ve slapped the song’s co-writer Ke$ha on the chorus and introduced a Nicki Minaj rap. It’s all timely because Nicki herself is gonna be supporting Brit on her Femme Fatale tour.

The new version is by no means your typical 15-minute copy, paste and extend loop job. Producers Dream Machine and Dr Luke have put it through some mild rinse acid dub step wash, especially in the all crucial start of the song where people usually tune in to hear the difference.

Notice the scratching of the line “sicker than the remix” to “this is the remix”? Hat tip.

Take a listen and tell me if it’s sick’ning enough for your taste:

Feed Limmy verdict: Bounce snap.

Mighty snap = this is a hit.
Bounce snap = instantly likeable.
Lightbulb snap = you will need a moment to get into this.
Nonchalant snap = need I say more?
No snap = please cease and decease.

Stay tuned for word from Sony Music Australia about whether Aussie radios will also be treated to this new remix of ‘Till The World Ends’.

Chart Feed – 28.03.11

The Strokes‘ comeback album Angles debuts straight in at #1 here despite attracting mixed reviews from fans and critics. I felt super awkward for the band reading their Pitchfork interview where it was revealed that lead singer Julian Casablancas had strategically distanced himself from the gang and creative involvement altogether for Angles. Sonically, it’s reportedly their most schizophonic and jarring body of work yet – and they know it. It’ll be interesting to see how hard they’ll flog this project given the mixed reception. Angles is also the highest charting new album in the UK this week, debuting at #3.

Chris Brown‘s F.A.M.E. enters at #3 in Australia and #10 in the UK this week. Over in the States, the newly blond R&B star is set to claim his first ever #1 album on the Billboard 200 with F.A.M.E. predicted to sell over 250,000 first week copies. To be fair, the album builds a strong case. It’s already flaunting four hit singles – ‘Deuces’, ‘Yeah 3x’, ‘No BS’ and ‘Look At Me Now’. The other big entry expected to impact US charts later this week is Jennifer Hudson‘s sophomore I Remember Me. Look out!

Other notable new entries in Australia this week go to Panic! At The Disco‘s Vices & Virtues (#6), Sparkadia‘s The Great Impression (#8) and Ke$ha’s remix album (#46).

New Glee hits our singles chart this week with the show’s first ever originals ‘Loser Like Me’ and ‘Get It Right’ debuting at #15 and #34 respectively. Over in the US, ‘Loser Like Me’ debuts at #6 and comes in as the second most downloaded song in the nation, clocking over 210,000 sales. ‘Get It Right’ enters at #16 on the main charts, managing 150,000 first week downloads. All up in the States, the Glee cast has seven new Hot 100 entries this week, amassing over 712,000 digital sales.

Jessica Mauboy‘s ‘What Happened To Us?’ shoots to #14 in Australia this week, no doubt thanks to its strong physical sales. For the second week in a row, it is the best selling CD single in the country. And speaking of the physical charts, Kylie Minogue‘s ‘Better Than Today’ sits at #5 this week. I’ll always cherish the memory of seeing the single propped up on display at a music store in Oxford Street circa Mardi Gras. Get it gays.

Lady Gaga‘s ‘Born This Way’ holds up its sixth consecutive week on top of the US charts, thanks in no small part to its physical single sales. The four-track CD single – featuring the original version and three remixes – managed to pull over 24,000 first week copies in a day and age where physical sales don’t usually account for much.

Rebecca Black‘s ‘Friday’ debuts at #40 on our Aussie digital charts this week and enters the US Billboard Hot 100 at #72, garnering over 37,000 first week downloads there. It’s interesting because while there’s obviously been a lot of discussion about the insipid track and her sudden ubiquity but, according to Billboard, the song only managed to score 12 plays on American radios between 16 – 22 March. Over in the UK, ‘Friday’ moves from #127 to #61 this week.

Miranda Cosgrove‘s High Maintenance EP debuts at #34 on the US charts this week. The iCarly past is a natural deterrent for me but having seen the producer creds behind this project, I’m actually kinda curious now.

The lead single ‘Dancing Crazy’ is co-written by Avril Lavigne and produced by Max Martin, the title track is a Julian Casablancas co-write, there’s a Shontelle cover up in there, and the EP closer ‘Sayonara’ is hemmed by super producers Dr Luke and Greg Kurstin (and co-written by Britney‘s Femme Fetale writers Bonnie McKee and Nicole Morrier). Hmm, indeed!

Nicole Scherzinger‘s ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ slips from the UK #1 spot and Adele ‘Someone Like You’ is back on top. Still, it’s nothing to sneeze at. ‘DHYB’ apparently pulled over 98,000 first week sales and over 60,000 in this second week!

Over on the album charts, Nicole’s solo debut Killer Love enters at #8 – only reportedly selling over 19,000 copies. What does everyone think of the record? To be honest, I’m embarrassed for the ho. Seriously. After all this time and talk, this soggy diaper of an album is all you can show for? Should’ve chopped it down to a five-track EP featuring the singles, ‘Killer Love’, ‘Club Banger Nation’ and ‘Power’s Out’. ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ is the fourth most added new song to Aussie radios this week.

Ronan Keating‘s Burt Bacharach duet album debuts at #5 in the UK, making this RoRo‘s first solo chart appearance there since 2009′s Winter Songs covers compilation. At this stage it is unknown whether the Irish hunk will be returning as a judge on X Factor Australia this year. Auditions have already started in Perth last week.

Britney Spears ‘Till The World Ends’ Single Details

Is this real life?

Insiders had previously hinted that another single might be issued before Femme Fatale drops on 25 March but the question is, will it really? And when?

I raised an eyebrow last night when the latest Sony Music Australia release schedule had an untitled Brit single etched in for this Friday’s release.

It was previously announced on Ryan Seacrest that the album’s second single will be ‘I-I-I Wanna Go-o-o’ but this morning The Prophet Blog and Poor Britney had posted about the above artwork and single preview appearing on Deezer, a French online music store.

Definitely got more love for this cover art than I did for Femme Fatale or ‘Hold It Against Me’. Go listen to a preview of ‘Till The World Ends’ on Amazon now.

Footnotes:

‘Till The World Ends’ is co-written by Ke$ha and produced by Dr Luke and Max Martin. The track will cop a digital release in Australia on 5 March.

Say Something: Kylie Minogue’s Mardi Gras Message

We interrupt our regular programming to bring you this important announcement.

Queen Kylie has left a short message of love – as you would find, there’s lots of it – for our Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Say Something campaign and look, she’s in full Aphrodite tour costume mode!

Say Something has been a hugely successful online campaign for the new Mardi Gras and since I’m gearing up for my first Big Gras experience this weekend, I’m gonna let ya’ll have a few more of these lovely little bytes from the likes of Ke$ha, Dannii Minogue, Sam Sparro, and a blonde/lightly-bronzed Missy Higgins:

Footnotes:

Didn’t you wanna just surrender your body and soul to that deep chocolatey soundwave that is Sam Sparro‘s dulcet tones? *Melts*

Ke$ha ‘Blow’ Music Video

Tonguing unicorns, slaying a 90s has-been, and channelling some kind of Bond gurl glamoury - Ke$ha manages to wipe it all in her ‘Blow’ video.

This bitch won’t quit giving us every bit of dime store elegance in her music videos and this time, she’s dragged Dawson’s Creek heartthrob James Van Der Beek in for the foolery.

Director Chris Marrs Piliero (the man behind Black Keys‘ ‘Tighten Up’ and ‘Next Girl’ videos) sets Ke$ha and James off in one of the best mid-video banter we’ve seen since in years. Regardez:

‘Blow’ might’ve been the single choice that sent a thousand eyes rolling backwards but at this point in time, I’m ready to just relent to the madness and let this bitch finish getting off on her own tired-ass drunk-pop swag.

Because I’m still very much sober at 7:30pm on a Saturday night, here are three moments my brain managed to engage with the video:

1) “Ke-dollar sign-ha!”

Hurry, eager gif-making elves, I’m counting on you to make this iconic exchange viral.

Ke$ha: Well well well, if it isn’t James Van Der Douche.

James: I don’t appreciate you slander-beek-ing my name, Ke -dollar sign -ha.

2) Eleganza.

Look at her. Isn’t she just a Viagra-hit of Playboy bunny perfection? You know what. I have no complaints if this ho wants to blow dry her hair every now and then, and not just rock up looking like she had just scrunch-styled it with her own snot and vomit. I could get used to this.

3) Rainbow laser guns.

Fuck this battle scene. Bring back Jeffree Star.

Footnotes:

Ke$ha‘s remix album is out in Australia on 18 March.

The tracklisting and cover art is already floating about the interwebs but I’m holding off until we get official deets on a local edition.

Chart Feed – 21.02.11

Lady Gaga‘s ‘Born This Way’ has broken ARIA chart record to be the biggest first week seller in Australia since Anthony Callea‘s ‘The Prayer’ back in 2004, according to AuspOp. ‘Born This Way’ effortlessly topped the charts here with certified gold sales, which usually denotes over 35,000 copies sold, and - as expected - it was also the most added new song to radios last week.

The new single also debuted straight at #1 in the US, making it her highest Billboard chart debut since ‘Bad Romance’, which only managed to enter at #9. Even more special, ‘Born This Way’ became the 1000th #1 single recorded in Billboard history and the 19th one ever to debut straight at the top.

Adele has become the first artist to have two singles and two albums in the UK Top five since The Beatles did so in 1964. Following the Brit Awards performance, her newest single ‘Someone Like You’ stormed to the top of the charts while its predecessor ‘Rolling In The Deep’ sits at #4. Adele‘s current album 21 remains in #1 position while her 2008 debut 19 sits at #4 this week. Believe it or not, ‘Someone Like You’ is Adele‘s very first UK #1 single. Tear jerker of the year, anyone?

Mumford & Sons are also enjoying a post-Brit Awards boost with their album Sigh No More rising to #2 this week in the UK. Elsewhere, Tinie Tempah‘s Disc-Overy rises to #6 there and makes a debut on our Aussie digital charts at #42.

Ke$ha‘s second Cannibal single ‘Blow’ starts charting at #24 in Australia this week. If it hadn’t been for the polarising demand for ‘Born This Way’, this track would’ve been the most added new track to Aussie radios. ‘Blow’ is co-written by Klas Ahlund, who is famed for working with Robyn and co-penning Britney‘s ‘Piece of Me’. Ke$ha is set to drop a remix album – imaginatively titled The Remix Album - here on 18 March. Stay tuned for the artwork and tracklisting.

Diddy – Dirty Money‘s biggest smash yet ‘Coming Home’ has finally cracked Australia, climbing to #13 this week. The rap mogul’s R&B/hip hop collective is made up of ex-Danity Kane diva Dawn Richard and upcoming singer/songwriter Kalenna Harper. However, this track features another soon-to-be ubiquitous artist – Skylar Grey – who ya’ll will also know as the vocalist on Eminem‘s latest single ‘I Need A Doctor’. Skylar is also credited as a co-writer on Slim‘s international smash: ‘Love The Way You Lie’.

Michael Buble‘s Crazy Love album finally knocks Pink from the top of the ARIAs after an unwavering 14-week reign. The crooner’s currently on tour swooning Aussie fans and charming TV watchers to no end, so it’s kinda expected. The Crazy Love tour will serenade Melbourne fans in Rod Laver Arena this week.

Hillsong United‘s latest worship album Aftermath is the most downloaded album in Australia this week. Pause. The monster Pentecostal church’s record debuted at #4 on the main charts, making it the biggest selling new album in the country. Praise Allah.

Cut Copy‘s Zonoscope drops ten places to #13 this week but fear not, the Melbourne band has released a marvy new video to whet your appetite. Check out the visuals for the second single ‘Need You Now’:

Zonoscope debuts at #46 on the US Billboard 200 this week and #5 on the Billboard Indie Album chart.

American electro dub step meister Skrillex‘s new EP – Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites – debuts at #9 on our Aussie digital charts this week. His biggest mainstream acknowledgement to date is probably for the ace remixes of Gaga‘s ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Alejandro’ – the former was included on the Japanese edition of Mother Monster‘s The Remix compilation. Skrillex has been picked up by Warner Music Australia’s boutique dance label Neon Records, which currently house heavyweights like TV Rock, Denzal Park and Zoe Badwi.

Zoe Badwi‘s new single ‘Accidents Happen’ debuts at #50 on the ARIA club charts this week. Take a listen to the remixes issued to the dance floor here, courtesy of Fabian Gray & Emanuele, and I Am Sam:

Roxette‘s Charm School debuts at #32 on our Aussie digital charts this week. This marks the popular Swedish duo’s first album of original material in 10 years.

Take That‘s romping new single ‘Kidz’ shoots to #31 in the UK this week. Why has it taken so long to drop a follow up to ‘The Flood’? I guess, it don’t matter what single’s on the radio if your album’s already selling so damn well. It’s been said for awhile that ‘SOS’ could be the follow up track but I wholeheartedly approve either way. Can’t wait to see what they come up with for the video. ‘Kidz’ – the single – will feature a previously unreleased track titled ‘Rocket Ship’.

Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith‘s ‘Never Say Never’ shoots to #49 on the UK charts this week following a little Grammy fever. Trivia: Travis Garland recorded a demo of the track, which was originally titled ‘Sexy Together’. Bieber basically came in and re-wrote it to something more age and demographic appropriate. I’m sure you can find ‘Sexy Together’ somewhere on the interwebs, if you’re hard keen enough. Never Say Never: The Remixes is out in Australia this Friday.

You know how the American charts bore me senseless, right? Check out this new addition Billboard has introduced to their all inclusive chart family. The Billboard Uncharted – which launched last month in the US – ranks artists who have yet to appear on any Billboard charts but have been gaining popularity through internet media. The chart data is determined by views from social media sites like YouTube, MySpace and Twitter etc. Interesting stuff for us taste makers who are always looking for the next fresh thing.

Check out this week’s Uncharted chart and see who’s making a splash. The only artists I’ve come across so far are Girl TalkPomplamoose, Anna Calvi, Hayden Panatierre (yes, hurr) and Sam Tsui (YouTube his emotive piano based cover of Britney‘s ‘Hold It Against Me’).
